During the Adobe x Activision Creative Jam Challenge in 2020, my two teammates and I worked together over the course of a weekend to learn how to use AdobeXD to design and prototype a mobile application focused on game exploration. This was my first attempt at implementing my knowledge into a tangible design.

As the COVID-19 pandemic persists, people around the world are finding themselves confined indoors and turning to gaming as a way to pass the time. According to Verizon, gaming traffic has surged by 75% since March 2020, while data from Streamlabs shows a 20% increase in usage hours across streaming platforms. With the isolation of quarantine, individuals of all ages are turning to gaming as a means of staying connected and occupied.
However, the abundance of choices available to new gamers can be overwhelming, and there is no centralized resource to assist them in discovering games that are suitable for their preferences and current situation. Activision is interested in exploring how an interactive experience could assist new gamers in becoming familiar with and integrated into the gaming community.
Create a proficiency-focused app experience to inform new gamers about video games based on age-appropriateness and skills such as reading, hand-eye coordination, fitness, personal accountability, multi-tasking, problem-solving, memory, attention, concentration, social skills and more.

My teammates and I developed GameScouts, a mobile app concept for the challenge aimed at adult gamers who want to discover new games and incorporate gaming into their daily lives and social networks. The app does not function as a new platform for selling smartphone games but instead emphasizes the exploration of various video games, including those beyond smartphones, tailored to the user's skill level and circumstances. GameScouts also facilitates sharing personal gaming accomplishments and fostering or strengthening relationships through gaming.
